The BROOKLYN BRIDGE ROTARY CLUB meets the 2nd and 4th Thursday each month (holidays excepted) at Archives Restaurant in the NY Marriott at Brooklyn Bridge, in Downtown Brooklyn NY. Our club is a relatively one (established in 2011), carrying on a 100-year-old tradition of Rotary in Brooklyn.

On other weeks, the club generally meets in the evening, but visitors should check the website’s homepage for weekly updates .

Not lunch meeting on May 15. Instead, the club will host its annual Gala that evening.

If you are interested in learning more about Rotary, or if you’re “making up” from another Rotary club, we’d love to greet you! (Call our President Ed Weintrob at 718-908-5555 or write to him at Ed@BrooklynBridgeRotary.org)

The Marriott, at 333 Adams St (aka Brooklyn Bridge Blvd), is within 2 blocks of Brooklyn Borough Hall, the MetroTech office campus, Fulton Street Mall, and (of course) the BROOKLYN BRIDGE. It’s within walking distance of 4 colleges (NYU-Polytechnic, Brooklyn Law, St. Francis, and LIU Brooklyn) and the historic Brooklyn Heights, Cobble Hill and DUMBO neighborhoods.

The hotel is easy to reach on foot, by car or cab, or by subway (A,C,F to Jay Street; 4,5 to Boro Hall; 2,3 and R to Court Street Boro Hall). Note: There is presently no R train service between Brooklyn and Manhattan.

  1. Congratulations on your start as a new Rotary club. I am hoping that you can help me with my quest. I am a member and past president of the Rotary Club of St. Paul, MN. My wife and I hope to retire in the next several months. My wife and I are planning to move to New York City for six months to start our retirement. We are looking for an apartment to rent for those six months. Our thought is that Brooklyn would be a good place to live. I am writing to see if there is anybody in your club that would be able to help us to find a place to rent? If there is no real estate agent in your club, could your recommend somebody for us to contact? Al Zdrazil 651-675-9838

  3. Dear Rotary Fellows from the Brooklyn Bridge Rotary Club,

My name is Juliana Silva and I am a Rotarian from the Rotary Club of Ituverava, SP, Brazil – District 4540. I teach English as a Foreign Language in Brazil and I will be taking a group of students to NY for a week as a group tour in november, 2011. I was wondering if it would be possible for me to attend a rotary meeting with you guys on November 17th, 2011. It will be on a thursday which is a perfect day for me because on this day the students will be in Washington and I will have the whole day just for myself and for my husband.

I am also a former rotary exchange student (1995-1996 in Minnesota) so rotary has always played a very important role in my life.

I will be waiting for your contact. This will be my first rotary meeting that i will be attending outside my own club as a Rotarian. So feel free to give any direction about what to do, if I have to pay for anything, if it will be possible to exchange flags (I don’t know if they are called flags but I hope you understand).

I will be waiting for your contact.
    Sincerely,

    Juliana Silva
