Heart problems, which kill more Americans than any other disease, will be the subject of a “Dinner with the Doctor” forum hosted by the Brooklyn Bridge Rotary Club, this Thursday, Nov. 8, 6 pm, at New York Marriott Brooklyn Bridge, 333 Adams St., Downtown Brooklyn.
Cardiologist
Ozgen Dogan will explore “Prevention of Heart Disease,” suggesting ways that this killer of one out of three Americans
can be curbed. Every day,
2,200 Americans die as a result of cardiovascular disease, including heart disease and stroke, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Dr. Dogan, M.D. FAAC, is a partner in Diagnostic Cardiology at
100 Clinton St. in Brooklyn Heights, a noninvasive cardiac outpatient center that offers programs in nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, stress testing, stress reduction (yoga), diet, cardiac rehabilitation and exercise. He has authored handbooks on emergency medicine and cardiology, wrote the foreword to “
Essential Eating,” contributes regularly on cardiology for
Sharecare.com, and is Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at the State University of New York and Columbia University. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, Nuclear Cardiology and Echocardiography.
This week’s talk follows a well-attended session last month on Dementia. Future Rotary lectures will cover breast cancer, erectile dysfunction, diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease, colon cancer, Parkinson’s disease, hypertension, and weight loss.
All sessions are free and open to the general public; reservations are not required, and light refreshments are served. Following each talk, guests will have the option of joining the doctor for a $30 prix fixe dinner at 7 pm.
The series is moderated by Cara Lubin, M.D., a charter member of the Brooklyn Bridge Rotary Club.
